We’re being asked by plenty of people outside of Singapore what the process and visa requirements are to attend a public or private training course. To save you all the bother, we’ve asked Singapore’s Immigration & Checkpoint Authority (ICA) for the details and collated their responses here. This is a quick rundown of the steps for a visa application, although as with everything related to immigration we strongly recommend you confirm this directly with the ICA before booking travel.
See if you need a visa in the first place
Check if you require an entry visa here – https://www.ica.gov.sg/visitor/visitor_entryvisa.
The tab “Visa-Required Travel Documents by Countries and Regions” contains a list of countries that require a visa to enter Singapore.
If your country is on that list, please click on it and proceed to download the form 14A found on the website and fill in the required fields.
Where to submit your visa application
Your visa application can then be submitted at the nearest Singapore Overseas Mission or through its authorised visa agent.
Locate the foreign embassy closest to you here – https://www.mfa.gov.sg/Overseas-Missions/Find-A-Singapore-Overseas-Mission
There will be instructions on how to submit the 14A form based on your country.
Process, fees and timing for your visa application
You are advised to apply for an entry visa 30 days prior to arrival in Singapore for the course.
A processing fee of 30 Singapore dollars per visa application will be collected at the time of submission.
This fee is non-refundable regardless of the outcome of the application or if you withdraw the application after submission.
Where applicable, a security deposit may be required upon approval of the application.
